Trust sprucie to come out with a pearler when we realised what was happening this lunchtime at Robin Hood Airport. Our office has the best view of the runway, move us 100 yards to the left and we will be on it – thats how close we are.
With all the comotion going on outside, from police to news reporters, we were all speculating what was happening. It wasn’t until I checked on the Doncaster Freepress website (Check the article) that a little light was shed.
14 – (The freepress states 18, but the charity website states 14) – lions have touched down from Romania. The zoo which the lions were kept couldn’t look after them no more, so the folks at Yorkshire Wildlife Park have launched an appeal to raise £150,000 to rescue the lions and nurse them back to health and permanently house them properly.
The park still needs to raise money to hit its £150,000 target. To donate visit www.justgiving.co.uk/lionrescue.
