It’s been a while. The back end of 2010 was very busy for us and we barely had time to sleep, let alone blog. We’re not complaining though, more in 2011 if you please.
First week back after the holidays – Happy New Year by the way – and our favourite beverage company has decided to shake us all up and propose a change. A change that will undoubtedly take them onto the next level – if there is one, where Starbucks are concerned.
Now the change is being made because they don’t want to be just seen as a coffee / beverage brand – the typography on the old logo kind of limits them to coffee and isn’t very reciprocal to ice cream or sandwiches, which they’re looking at – and in some cases have tried in store nationwide.
Some will say, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, some will think it is a wise move.
When I first saw it I thought, what have they done – and now I kind of like it but we are all reserved on how the general public will react – did they even notice the “Siren” mermaid figure before? Will they recognise it when it is released? Should Starbucks be venturing into ice cream or stick with what they know – which is quality coffee.
Let us know your thoughts.
