Afternoon
I am sure you are relieved that January, the first bleak, cold month of 2011 is finally over and the evenings are starting to draw out. I am certainly glad to see the back of all those glossy mags in the newsagents that shout out at me in capital letters and over use exclamation marks telling me to ‘REINVENT YOURSELF FOR NEW YEAR!’ Finally the good intentions of New Year resolutions prove to be just that, good intentions. I can finally walk on the pavement again without fear of being knocked down by a manic jogger who is trying to lose a stone in a week. Although, I do believe that it’s sometimes good to make some changes that you believe will have a positive difference on the year ahead. It would appear that Redesign share the same philosophy too.
On that note I will introduce myself, I’m Maddie, the newest addition to the Redesign team. I’ll be working with the company to help them as they expand the way they work. As my second day comes to a close I can honestly say it’s been anything but mundane down at Redesign HQ, I have already had the chance to drive one of Arnold Brown Plant Ltd’s machines . I hope that it’s a sign of the exciting things to come.
Redesign have given someone else a great opportunity for the New Year too. I have the honour to announce that congratulations are in order to our competition winners, Big Ambitions. Big Ambitions were lucky enough to win the 2010 rebrand by Redesign. The CIC Enterprise was selected at random out of a number of entrants and it’s exciting to see their vision and the changes that are lined up for them in 2011.
Big Ambitions was set up by Jane Jefferson and Laura Moody who aim to help people face the effects that mental health may have on business. It aims to train and educate employers on the topic in an attempt to reduce absenteeism and make the workplace a better place to be.
Later this year the project faces the withdrawal of funding due to the current economic climate, so our rebrand will give them a strong identity to standalone and continue the important work they have been doing. Congratulations!
So here ‘s hoping that in 2011 you have a stress free time at work, and a peaceful walk home undisturbed by bright red, panting joggers.
