Had a cracking weekend doing the Mother’s Day thing and took a bit of time out Sunday morning to knock the cobwebs off early on around Albert Dock in Liverpool. Started in Costa Coffee with a bucket full of Capuccino and Hot Chocolate for Charlie in the morning sunshine! Bit bracing with the breeze off the Mersey but cleared the old head a bit. Then went for a merry wander around the Albert Dock, taking in the distant sights such as The “Wigwam” Cathedral, Mersey Ferry and the Liver Building. Some great places to see around the dock too with The Tate Liverpool, beautiful branding example in the window of Circo Bar & Restaurant, Great Western Railway building in the throes of renovation and these funnels which I guess are submarine related. Echoes of the Beatles all around and a true maritime feel about all around with the docks and associated hostelries scattered nearby that would clearly be able to tell a tale or two! Only a quick hour’s snapshot and saw probably very little but what a marvellous city!
